Matt is a bioinformatician in the OSU Department of Microbiology assisting both the Bradley lab and the Infectious Diseases Institute. He received his BS in physics from Wright State University and spent the better part of a decade developing high-energy physics instrumentation systems at the Laboratory for Elementary-Particle Physics at Cornell University. He acted as Principal Research Engineer at Clear Guide Medical, contributing to the hardware and software development of a novel medical device. Most recently he served as a senior software engineer at the Space Telescope Science Institute supporting the data analysis and science calibration efforts of the Hubble Space Telescope and James Webb Space Telescope missions. Always intrigued by new challenges, he is enthusiastic about applying computational techniques and software engineering practices to genomics research.
