Kananen et al. published; Majernik et al. accepted

Big congratulations to Kat and Stephanie on their papers being published and accepted, respectively!

First, Kat’s paper on genome annotation in less-well-studied taxa has been officially published in Bioinformatics Advances. This paper came out of a really great collaboration with co-first author Dr. Iva Veseli and co-corresponding author A. Murat Eren (Meren), who developed the open-source tool anvi’o.

Second, Stephanie’s paper on how pangenome contamination can lead to incorrect conclusions in gene-resolved analyses (and what to do about it) has been officially accepted at mSphere and is in the proof stage.

Also, congratulations to both Christian and Larry, who both made important contributions to Kat’s and Stephanie’s papers, respectively.

Great to see the first stories from the group emerging!
