We have returned from ISMB with many a new idea. Patrick Bradley gave a fantastic talk on his tool Phylogenize. In Addition, both Stephanie Majernik and Kathryn Kananen gave their talks on some of the work they have been doing over the year.

Hello from Atlanta this time! ASM was a blast this year and I know we all enjoyed getting to see what everyone in the community is working on. Patrick, Kat, and Christian all presented their research.

Hello from Pittsburgh! Patrick is giving a talk on his tool phylogenize and some of the exciting work that we all have planned for the new release this summer. Some of our work is already on the github but we have exciting new features planned including a database expansion, new internal methods, and making the tool much more accessible.

We are very happy to have Emily Bradley join the group as an undergraduate working with their new mentor Alexis Young!

Congrats to Larry Beaver and his wife for their newest addition to their family! We look forward to having you back during the summer and can’t wait to see all the new baby pictures.
